FLORIDA!
We packed up the kids at 4:00 pm on April 17th and made our way down to Tampa, FL where my parents live. A fun filled 11 hour drive and I say fun filled only because the kids were out within 2 hours of leaving, which meant nice and quiet for the next 9 hours. Steve and I dropped off the kids and then drove another 6 hours the next day to Key West by ourselves! It was so much fun to get Steve all to myself for 3 days and we had so much fun in the Keys!
We then spent the rest of the week at Grandma and Grandpa's enjoying their pool and going to the beach. Ellis was not too fond of the water, but Rylan couldn't get enough!
Ahoy Matey!

2009 in Review!
Ok, ok it has been almost 2 years since my last post. Now most of you would say "oh, sad," but I would say "PATHETIC!" And to make matters worse, it was my New Year's goal to be better about updating my blog and here it is APRIL! Well, I guess the saying "try and try again" fits me perfectly. So, here goes with my update for the last year....enjoy!
In 2009 we drove down to Tampa to visit my parents and we took Rylan to Disney twice. We loved going, but not so fun when you are pregnant and don't get to go on any of the roller coaster rides!
Last year Rylan was really into pirates, and actually still is. So, we headed out to Clearwater, FL with my parents and took a ride on a pirate boat!
Here we are the middle of the sweltering summer in Nashville, 8 months pregnant and realizing that I have not documented this pregnancy very well, so here are our posed quick shots to prove that I did actually go thru this and made it twice!
And here is the big event in 2009...the birth of Ellis Grace on August 25, weighing 5 lbs 13 oz, and arriving in 11 minutes starting from the time I got out of the car at Vanderbilt screaming at the top of my lungs. Funny how it all seems like a blur now.

Visit from Nana and Papa
Nana and Papa came to visit us the first week of November. We had lots of fun exploring Nashville with them. We went to the zoo, the Carter House (famous civil war site), the Grand Ole Opry, the Listening Room, and on a great little hike that overlooks the Harpeth River. We were really sad to see them go, but can't wait to see them at Christmas!

Surprise Trip
So, I was in Costco on Monday night shopping with Rylan. Rylan started to look around me and giggle. I didn't know who he was looking at so I turned around and low and behold my parents were standing there. They had got in the car on Monday morning and drove 10 hours to come stay with us for a couple days. I had no idea they were coming. I was so excited to see them. Sadly, they left this morning to go back to Tampa. We did go to the Carnton House in Franklin while they were here. If any of you have read The Widow of the South this is were it takes place.
